Karting Driver Goals

Driver Goals turns targets like a lap time, a podium or a licence upgrade into a series of milestones. Each goal has a driver, a target date, a reason and a checklist with notes on what proved each step. Ticking the last milestone marks the goal achieved.

Driver Goals is the development planner in the AVB RaceLabs Pit Kit. A goal has a title (for example "Break 47.5 at Whilton Mill"), the Driver it belongs to, a Why this matters line, an optional Target date and a status: Active, Achieved or Paused. Below that is a list of Milestones, the smaller steps that lead to the goal.

Vague ambitions like "get faster" rarely survive a wet race weekend. A goal broken into milestones gives a driver, parent or coach something concrete to work on each session. Recording evidence keeps the list honest: a milestone is ticked off because the driver "held 47.5s for 10 laps at Whilton, 12 May", not just because it felt better.

Tick a milestone and it records the date it was done. Tap the pencil to add an Evidence note. When every milestone is ticked, the goal's status switches to Achieved, ready for you to save. Each goal card shows the driver, the target date, a progress bar and a done/total count. An active goal past its target date shows a red "past target" pill so it gets discussed rather than quietly dropped. Filter chips along the top switch between All, Active, Achieved and Paused.

Goals are saved on your phone and work offline. Free accounts can have 3 goals that are not yet achieved, and paused goals count towards that. Achieved goals do not count, so finishing one frees a place. Premium removes the limit and adds PitSync cloud backup.

Questions

How do you set goals for a karting driver?
Create a goal with a clear target, such as a lap time at a named track, add a reason and a target date, then break it into milestones. Tick each milestone and add evidence as it happens.
Do achieved goals count towards the Free limit?
No. The Free limit is 3 goals that are not yet achieved, so active and paused goals count but achieved goals do not. You can keep every finished goal and still set new ones.
What happens when a goal passes its target date?
If the goal is still Active, its card shows a red past target pill so you can review it, reset the date or pause it.
