It's the morning of your session and cloud is building over the circuit. Before you decide on slicks or wets, pressures and setup, you want to know three things: how warm the track will be, whether rain is coming, and how much grip to expect. The Weather and Track Grip modules answer all three for your session's time slot.
Before you start
- A Premium or Pro with AI plan.
- Your kart and a saved setup in your profile.
- A planned session for this track and time. See Plan a session at a new track.
- A connection, so the latest forecast can load.
Open the session's weather
- Open the Sessions tab and tap your session under PLANNED SESSIONS. The app moves to the Intelligence tab, and a red banner shows the session's track, date and time.
- Tap Weather.
- If the session isn't today, choose between Session weather (the forecast for your session's time slot) and Current weather (conditions at the track right now).
- Stay on the Now tab for the conditions summary, or tap Forecast for the charts.
If the screen says "Pick a session in the Sessions tab to load weather strategy", no session is active yet. Go back to step 1.
Reading the Now tab
- CURRENT CONDITIONS: Air temperature, Humidity and Wind, with the gust speed alongside.
- TRACK TEMPERATURE: the Estimated surface temperature and its Trend. Track temperature, not air temperature, drives how fast your tyres come in.
- Badges for Rain risk, Surface, Wetness, Rubber level and Wind. These give you the state of the track at a glance.
- GRIP SCORE: a score out of 10. Higher score means more available track grip.
- RAIN & DRYING: recent and expected rain, the Rain probability (session), Rain duration and the Drying trend. After a shower, the drying trend tells you whether a damp track will come to you during the session.
Wind speed follows your speed unit. To switch between km/h and mph, tap the person icon on Home, then Speed unit under PREFERENCES.
Reading the Forecast tab
Four charts cover the hours around your session:
- TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK, with the day's high and low.
- RAIN PROBABILITY, showing the peak chance in the next 24 hours.
- RAIN PAST 24H, the total that has already fallen. Useful for judging standing water and a green track.
- WIND TREND, with forecast wind speed and the past 24 hours' strongest gust.
A dashed Now line marks the current time. Coloured pins labelled S1, S2 and so on mark each of your planned sessions that day, so you can see what the weather is doing at each one.
Good to know: Hourly detail is published about 48 hours ahead. Before then you'll see a daily outlook instead. If the session is beyond the forecast range, you'll see "Too far out to predict", and nothing is calculated for the session yet.
The data refreshes by itself while the screen is open. Pull down to refresh it straight away.
Check the grip estimate
- Go back to the Intelligence tab.
- Tap Track Grip. The screen is headed Track Grip Estimate.
Here's what you'll see:
- ESTIMATED GRIP: a percentage on a gauge from Low to High, labelled Low grip, Neutral grip or High grip.
- Setup bias: the direction the conditions point your setup.
- TRACK STATE: Track temp, Wind impact, Drying trend, Track wetness, Rain risk and Weather influence.
- WHY THIS GRIP: a plain explanation. Grip comes from track temperature, moisture, humidity and rubber build-up.
Tap the small info icon on the ESTIMATED GRIP card for an explanation of what it shows and how to use it. The same icon appears on cards in Weather and the other modules.
Putting it to use
- Low grip and a cool track usually mean your tyres need longer to come in. Open Tyres next for cold pressures matched to these conditions.
- A rising rain probability around your session's pin is your cue to get the wet set and wet setup ready, even if the sky looks fine now.
- Grip often builds through the day as rubber goes down. Plan your later sessions too, so you can compare them.
Good to know: Everything here is advice only. It does not change your saved setup. Weather can turn faster than any forecast, so trust what you see at the track and make the final call yourself.
Do it on the web portal
- In the left sidebar, open Race Engineering > Weather.
- Use the Session weather / Current weather toggle as in the app.
The portal shows the same information in a wider layout:
- Track Evolution: how grip and temperature are trending.
- Environment: current conditions, the track temperature estimate, and a Grip score out of 10.
- Weather Charts: the forecast charts.
As in the app, you need a saved kart and an active setup. Without them the page shows COMMAND CENTER STANDBY and links you to your profile.
