Round 4 is in three weeks. Entries close soon, a new set of slicks has to arrive before the van leaves, and last time someone forgot the starter battery. You want one place for the whole weekend, and it has to work in a paddock with no signal. The Pit Kit's race day tools work together for exactly this.
Before you start
- The app installed and signed in.
- No plan is needed. On Free you can plan 3 events in Race Weekends and keep 2 sets in Tyre Sets. Race Day Packing, Scrutineering Check, Kit Expiry and Regulations & useful links have no limit.
- The race day tools work offline. On Premium your entries are also backed up to your account and appear on the web portal.
Open the Pit Kit
- On the Home tab, tap the PIT KIT card.
- Use Search tools… to find a tool by name, or scroll to Race day & travel.
- Tap the star on any tool you use every weekend. It then appears under Favourites at the top.
Add the event and its deadlines
- Tap Race Weekends, then tap Event.
- Enter a Title (for example, Club Champs Round 4) and choose the Track.
- Set the Race date, and the Entry deadline (optional) if the club has one.
- Under To order before this event, type each item into Add something to order and tap Add. Then tap the calendar icon next to it to set the Needed-by date.
- If you have the Timetable (optional), add it.
- Tap Save event, and allow notifications when the phone asks.
The phone then reminds you at 09:00, 7 days and 1 day before the entry deadline. For each order item you haven't ticked off, it reminds you 3 days before and on the morning it is needed. The race date, entry deadline and order dates also show on the Calendar tab.
Tip: Tick an order item off when it arrives and save the event. That stops its reminders.
Put a tyre set aside for the event
- In the Pit Kit, open Tyre Sets and tap the set.
- Under Saved for event (optional), choose the race weekend.
- Tap Save tyre set. The set now shows "Saved for" and the event name.
Check your kit is in date
- Open Kit Expiry (under Weight, safety & compliance) and tap Item.
- Choose the Kind (for example Helmet, Race suit or Race licence), describe the Item, set the Expiry date and tap Save item. Items show Due soon or Expired, and the dates appear on the Calendar tab, so an expired licence doesn't catch you out at signing on.
Pack the van
- Open the event in Race Weekends. Under Checklists for this event, tap Race Day Packing.
- Type the meeting name into Event so the run is easy to find later.
- Work through Kart & spares, Driver kit and Paddock & admin, ticking each item as it goes in. Nine items are critical. The pill shows NO-GO until all of them are ticked, then GO.
- Save the run. It appears under Saved runs with its name and date.
The transponder line shows the transponder number from your profile, so you can check it against the one in the box.
Walk the kart before scrutineering
- From the same event, tap Scrutineering Check and enter the Race meeting.
- Go through the 21 checks under Safety-critical and Bodywork & compliance. Fourteen of them are critical. The pill turns GO only when every critical check is ticked.
- Save. The button reads Save — all items ticked, Save — critical items ticked or Save anyway, depending on what is ticked.
Good to know: This is a preparation aid only. The club scrutineer's decision is always final. Check the current regulations under Regulations & useful links, which open in your browser.
After the meeting
- Open the event in Race Weekends and add your Finishing position (after the event) and Notes.
- If you are running a championship, add the round in Points Tracker (Free: 1 championship).
- Log what the weekend cost in Season Budget (Free: 20 lines).
Reading the result
- The event card's entry pill turns amber within 14 days of the deadline and red once it has passed.
- The "to order" count turns amber within 7 days of the most urgent needed-by date, and red once it has passed.
- On Free, the hub shows Cloud backup is a Premium feature in place of the usual footer. Your entries are safe on the phone, but they are not backed up or restored to other devices.
Do it on the web portal
On Premium, open Pit Kit in the portal sidebar and choose Race day & travel. Your events, packing runs and checks sync with the app, so you can plan at home on a big screen and tick items off on your phone in the paddock.
