You're home after a long day at the track. The kart is still in the van, but you want to sit down at a proper screen, look back at how the day went, plan next weekend and try a few gearing ideas without touching the kart. That is what the web portal is for.
Before you start
- An AVB RaceLabs account on Premium or Pro with AI. Free accounts are taken to the Plans page instead. Your profile and team pages open on any plan. A manager whose team has an active team plan also gets Premium-level access.
- A kart and an active setup saved in your profile. The engineering pages need both.
- A laptop or desktop browser.
Sign in and pick a track
- Go to portal.avbracelabs.com, or tap Open on AVB RaceLabs web on the app's Home tab.
- Sign in with the same account you use in the app.
- If it's your first visit, or the Terms have changed, answer the Before you start questions and click Continue.
- On TRACK SELECTION ("Choose a track before entering engineering"), filter by country or use Search Track, pick a track, then click Use Selected. Click Skip To Dashboard if you don't want a track yet.
You can change track at any time with the track button in the header, which shows Track and your current track's name.
Find your way around
The header holds the track switcher, the Start Session Flow button, and icons for Settings (the gear), Messages, Profile and Logout.
The session banner sits under the header. It shows Active session with a Change link, or an amber No session selected message with Choose a session. Engineering uses the chosen session's date, time and kart setup.
The sidebar has these sections:
- Dashboard
- Pit Kit: All tools, Mechanic, Race day & travel, Driver & coaching, Weight & safety, Calculators
- Race Engineering: Weather, Intelligence, Lab
- Research: Engine, Tyres, Chassis
- Sessions: Today, Planner, Calendar, History
- Setups
- Team (team managers only)
The language picker sits at the bottom of the sidebar, with seven languages.
Engineer a session
- Open Race Engineering > Intelligence.
- Under Pick a session to engineer, click one of your planned sessions.
- On the page that opens, check DRIVER EXPERIENCE. Change the level if needed and click Apply.
- Work through the ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATIONS tiles: Setup Advice, Pressure Advice (Current Tyres), Gear Strategy, Track Grip Estimate and Ballast Recommendation.
No sessions listed? Plan one first in Sessions > Planner.
Tip: New to the portal? Click Start Session Flow in the header. It walks you through five steps, from track conditions to READY TO GO.
Reading the result
The recommendations are a starting point for you and your mechanic, not orders. Camber and caster advice is given as steps from your own baseline, such as one position more or less, never in degrees. So it works whatever your chassis's markings.
Every engineering widget has a ? button. It explains what the widget shows, why it matters and how to use it.
Good to know: AVB RaceLabs gives setup guidance, not guarantees. Check every change yourself or with a qualified mechanic before you run. Calculations and AI answers can be wrong.
Try what-if changes in the Lab
- Open Race Engineering > Lab (the WHAT-IF ENGINEERING PLAYGROUND).
- Use the Gear, Tyres, Engine and Chassis tabs to change one thing at a time, such as a rear sprocket or tyre diameter.
- Turn on Compare Mode to see it against your current setup.
- Click Reset to baseline to start again.
The Lab saves nothing. Your profile and setups stay as they are, so experiment freely.
Catch up on Pit Kit
Open Pit Kit > All tools to use the same tools as the app on a bigger screen: engine hours, service log, spares, race weekends, budget and more. Entries sync with the app, so a service job typed at home shows up on your phone in the paddock.
Change your settings
Click the gear icon in the header to set:
- Speed Unit: km/h or mph.
- Skin: Dark or Light.
- Time Zone: UK by default, synced to your profile so session times match across devices.
- AI features: on or off. The AI views need this switched on and a Pro with AI plan.
Good to know: Plan and review at home, not on the move. Never use the portal or the app while driving.
