The kart has just come off track and is back in the pits. Right now, while the tyres are still warm, is the only moment you can measure true hot pressures. A quick debrief records them along with how the kart felt. That's how AVB RaceLabs learns what your tyres actually do, so the next cold-pressure advice is closer to the mark.
Before you start
- A planned session that has finished. Debriefs are linked to the sessions in your planner.
- A pressure gauge, and the kart stopped in the pits.
- About 30 seconds.
Good to know: Only measure pressures once the kart is stopped and the engine is off. Never use the app while you're driving.
Find the debrief
The app reminds you in three ways. Use whichever you see first:
- A notification: about 10 minutes after a planned session ends, you'll get "Session finished? Quick debrief". Tap it.
- A banner on Home: "1 recent session needs a quick debrief", marked Last two weeks. Tap Enter now, or Later to put it off.
- The Messages icon on Home: a badge counts the sessions waiting. Open it and tap a session under Sessions awaiting debrief.
You can also open the Sessions tab and tap Debrief on the session's card.
Record the debrief
- On the Session debrief screen, enter Hot front and Hot rear, as soon as the tyres come in. Both are needed to save. Where the session had a hot target, the field shows it for comparison.
- Check Cold front and Cold rear match what you actually set before the session.
- Under How did the kart feel?, tap what fits: Balanced, Understeer, Oversteer, Sliding, Hopping, Tyres felt cold or Tyres overheated.
- Under Track, choose Dry, Damp or Wet.
- Open More details if you have them:
- Laps and Best lap (s).
- Scrutineering weight (kg): driver, kart and ballast on the scales, if you weighed in.
- Notes: anything you'll want to remember, such as "limiter early on the back straight".
- Tap Save debrief. You'll see "Saved. Thanks — this makes your recommendations more accurate."
If several sessions are waiting, the screen tells you how many more there are to go, and moves on to the next.
Tip: Hot pressures drop quickly once the kart is parked. Read the hot pressures first and fill in everything else afterwards.
When you didn't run
Not every planned session happens. Rain, a mechanical issue or a schedule change can all get in the way.
- Tap I didn't run this session if it never took place.
- Tap Ignore this session if you don't want to debrief it.
Either one clears the reminder, so your Home screen stays tidy.
Reading the result
Your hot pressures feed straight into the Tyres module. Next time you open Intelligence > Tyres, the PRESSURE ASSESSMENT card compares your Measured hot pressure with the AVB hot target and shows the Cold to hot gain. It tells you whether you finished In the target window, Above the target window or Below the target window.
- Above the target window: the tyres got hotter than ideal. Next time, a slightly lower cold pressure may help.
- Below the target window: the tyres didn't come in fully. A slightly higher cold pressure may help.
Without hot pressures, the app can only use the standard model, and the card shows "Hot pressure not measured". Pressure changes are always your decision.
Your scrutineering weight helps the Ballast module too. It lets the app work out your kart's real weight instead of using a class default.
Change a debrief later
Made a mistake? Open the Sessions tab and tap Edit debrief on the session's card. You'll also find past entries in Messages, under Recorded debriefs. Use the All, Needs debrief and Recorded filters to find them.
Tip: Make the debrief part of your routine, like checking chain tension. A season of hot pressures at your local track gives you far better cold-pressure advice there.
Do it on the web portal
The portal needs a Premium or Pro with AI plan. The same reminder appears at the top of the portal pages: "1 session needs a quick debrief." Click Enter now to open the Session debrief window. It has the same fields, with ±0.1 psi buttons for quick pressure entry.
You can also go to Sessions > History and click Debrief or Edit debrief on a session card.
To log lap times, open Sessions > Today. In LAP TIMES, enter one lap per line, as 43.765 or 0:43.765, then click Save Lap Times.
