You are set up and the app is open on Home. Before your first race weekend you want to know what each tab does, where Profile and settings live, and how to put the cards you need on race morning at the top of the screen.
Before you start
- An account with the setup wizard finished. See Set up your profile and first kart.
- Nothing else. This is a look around, and none of it changes your data.
The five tabs
The bar at the bottom shows icons only. From left to right:
- Home (house icon). Your dashboard of cards.
- Sessions (notepad icon). Plan sessions at a track and record your debriefs.
- Intelligence (spanner icon). Race engineering for the session you pick. The title bar on this tab reads Mechanic.
- Research (flask icon). Reference catalogues.
- Calendar (calendar icon). Everything with a date, by month.
Long-press any icon to see its name. Each tab remembers where you were. Tap the tab you are already on to go back to its first screen.
Good to know: While the Pit Kit stopwatch is running, the bottom bar is dimmed and cannot be tapped. Stop the stopwatch to move between tabs again.
Home
Home opens with a greeting, then a set of cards:
- PIT KIT: your paddock tools. Pit Kit has no tab of its own; this card is the way in.
- MY TEAM: join your team, and see your team-mates and your role.
- TODAY'S SESSIONS: anything you have planned for today.
- PLANNED TRACKS: your upcoming planned sessions.
- Open on AVB RaceLabs web: opens the web portal in your browser.
- RUNNING COST: what your Pit Kit entries add up to.
Pull down on Home to refresh it.
Arrange the cards
- Long-press a card.
- Move it up or down.
- To go back to the original order, tap the More menu at the top of Home, then Reset layout.
Tip: On a race weekend, move PIT KIT and TODAY'S SESSIONS to the top so the stopwatch, checklists and the day's plan are one tap away.
Messages
The Messages icon at the top of Home shows a badge with the number of sessions waiting for a debrief. Open it and use All, Needs debrief or Recorded to filter the list.
Sessions
Plan a session by picking a track, date, start time and type, then saving it. Tap a planned session to make it the active one; the app takes you to the Intelligence tab ready to work on it. See Plan a session at a new track.
Intelligence
This is where the race engineering lives. It has six modules: Weather, Tyres, Gear Strategy, Track Grip, Ballast and Setup. Each works on the session you picked in Sessions.
Intelligence is part of the Premium and Pro with AI plans. On Free, the tab shows Race engineering is a Premium feature with a See plans button. See Choose the right plan.
Research
Four tabs, Engine, Tyre, Chassis and Track, each with its own search. Use them to look up an engine's power band, a tyre's behaviour, a chassis family or a track's layout before you go.
Calendar
A month view with Today to jump back to the current month. The legend shows what each mark means: Planned sessions, Race weekends, Order deadlines, Kit expiry and Tyre sets. Tap a day to see what is on it.
Profile and settings
There is no settings tab. On Home, tap the person icon (Profile & settings). The screen is titled Profile.
Here you find your plan under SUBSCRIPTION, your driver details under PROFILE, the link to manage karts and setups under GARAGE, and your sign-in options under ACCOUNT.
Preferences
Under PREFERENCES you can change:
- Language: follow your device, or pick one of seven languages.
- Theme: System default, Light or Dark.
- Speed unit: Kilometres per hour (km/h) or Miles per hour (mph). This changes how wind speed is shown on Weather.
- Biometric sign-in: unlock the app with Face ID or your fingerprint.
- AI features: lets the AI tools send your data to our AI provider. See Turn AI features on or off.
Use the app in the paddock, on the dummy grid or at home. Never use it while driving.
