You have signed in for the first time and the app has started asking about you and your kart. It is tempting to tap through it. Take five minutes instead: every gearing, ballast and tyre pressure figure the app gives you later is worked out from these answers.
Before you start
- Your weight in full race kit: suit, helmet, boots, gloves and rib protector.
- Your class, for example Rotax Senior.
- Your chassis and engine.
- Which side the engine sits on, your fuel tank size, and any ballast blocks bolted on.
- Your team tag, if you are joining a team. Your manager can give it to you.
- A connection, because the class list loads from the server.
Steps
The wizard has six steps: language, role, about you, your kart, team and done. Use Continue to move on and Back to change an earlier answer. Only the team step can be skipped.
1. Language and role
- On Choose your language, pick Follow device language or one of English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Português, Italiano or Nederlands. Tap Continue.
- On What brings you here?, choose I drive or I run a team. Tap Continue. This only changes what you see first. Both get the same questions after this.
2. About you
- Enter Your name.
- Enter Weight with kit (kg). Weigh yourself in full kit if you can. Every gearing and tyre calculation depends on total mass.
- Add Height (cm, optional) if you want to.
- Choose Class you race in. If the list does not load, tap Retry.
- Choose Your racing experience: Beginner, Club racer, National, International or Professional.
- Tap Continue.
Good to know: Be honest about experience. It biases your gearing advice, and overstating it gives you longer gears than you will actually use.
3. Your kart
- Under Name it, give the kart a name, for example "Race kart".
- Choose your chassis under Chassis (optional). Despite the label, fill this in: the step will not let you continue without it.
- Choose your Engine. This is needed too, and it lets gearing advice use your engine's measured power curve rather than a generic one.
- Check Engine side. It starts on Right; change it to Left if that is where your engine sits. This decides which way the kart's static weight leans, and so the left/right tyre pressure split.
- Enter Fuel tank capacity (L). It is usually 3 to 9 L. Continue stays greyed out until the name, chassis, engine and fuel tank are filled in.
- Under Ballast carried (kg), add one row per block of lead:
- choose Where it's bolted: Under the seat, Seat back, Seat, left, Seat, right, Front or Rear;
- enter its weight in kg;
- tap Add another block for the next one, or Remove to delete a row. Leave this empty if you run no ballast.
- Tap Continue. The app saves your kart and a setup called Baseline holding the ballast and fuel.
Tip: Check your ballast against the kart, not your memory. A block that moved to the seat back at the last meeting changes the advice.
4. Joining a team?
- Enter your Team tag and tap Continue, or tap Skip if you run on your own.
- Your manager approves the request before you join. You can also join later from the MY TEAM card on Home.
5. Done
You see You're set up. Tap Start using the app.
If you chose I run a team, the same screen also shows Starting your team. It tells you to start your team from Profile when the team name and tag are settled, because you can only start one team.
Reading the result
What you entered now drives the race engineering tools:
- Weight with kit and your ballast feed the total weight used for ballast advice against the class minimum.
- Engine shapes the gearing advice.
- Engine side sets the left/right tyre pressure split.
- Your racing experience nudges the gearing shorter or longer.
Finish your profile later
A card on Home may show how many details are left, for example 2 details left on your profile. It covers your licence, organisation and transponder, which teams need for entry lists and timing.
- Tap Finish it now on that card.
- Fill in what you have and save.
You can change your name, weight, class and experience at any time:
- On Home, tap the person icon to open Profile.
- Under PROFILE, tap Driver.
Change your kart or setup
Karts and setups cannot be edited in the app after the wizard. To change them, or to add another kart, engine set or tyre set:
- Open Profile from the person icon on Home.
- Under GARAGE, tap Manage karts & setups on the web app.
- The Profile page of the web portal opens. Use KART MANAGEMENT and KART SETUP MANAGEMENT to make your changes. They sync to the app automatically.
The portal's Profile page works on every plan, including Free.
