Karting Tyre Pressures

Log the cold pressures you set and the hot pressures straight off track for all four corners, with date, track, tyre set, ambient temperature and a note. The app works out the cold-to-hot rise per corner and shows it on every saved session. Stored on the phone and works offline.

Tyre Pressures replaces the scrap of cardboard every kart tuner keeps in the toolbox. For each session you log the cold pressures you set and the hot pressures you read straight off track, in psi, for all four corners: front left, front right, rear left and rear right.

With each log you can record the date, the track or session, which tyre set you ran, the ambient temperature in °C and a short note. If you track sets in the Pit Kit's Tyre Sets journal, your active (not retired) sets appear as tap chips so you don't have to type the name. If you are signed in, you can also pick the track from the AVB track library, or simply type it.

The useful number is the rise. For every corner that has both a cold and a hot reading, the app works out the cold-to-hot rise and shows it in the session list, for example "rise FL +1.2 FR +1.4". Chasing a consistent rise session after session is how tuners find their cold settings.

Logs are saved on the phone, so the tool works in the paddock with no signal, and you can open, edit or delete any session. There is no cap on Free. Premium adds PitSync cloud backup, so the history survives a lost or replaced phone.

How to use it

  1. 01Open Pit Kit and choose Tyre Pressures under Calculators.

Questions

How much should kart tyre pressures rise from cold to hot?
It varies, which is why logging matters. The Tyre Pressures tool records cold and hot readings for each corner and works out the rise, so you can look for a consistent rise session after session and adjust your cold settings to match.
Does the tyre pressure log work without signal?
Yes. Logs are saved on the phone and the rise is calculated on the phone. You only need to be signed in with a connection to pick a track from the AVB track library; you can always type the track name instead.
Can I record which tyre set I used?
Yes. Each log has a tyre set field, and any active sets you keep in the Tyre Sets journal appear as tap chips.
